Chisto Vladimirov Javacheff passed away yesterday, May 31, 2020. Known simply as Christo, the artist along with his late wife Jeanne-Claude, created monumental environmental artworks that were grounded in joy and beauty. Their collaborations were created to engage the cultures where they were created generating conversations that became as important as the actual project.

I had an amazing opportunity to visit a more recent  project by Christo and Jeanne-Claude.    The Floating Piers in Lake Iseo Italy is an epic site specific work that exemplifies the brilliance in their practice and anchors their regal rank in the history of contemporary.
